Who to Contact?

The following is a list of contacts that can effect change. In the realm of political action, changing the flight path of a fleet of small noisy toxic-lead-spewing aircraft is not an insurmountable goal. It is not in CAE’s best interests to upset seats of government and regulatory bodies. That sort of thing leads to bad press, lawsuits, regulations, fines, etc.

  • Apache Junction

Apache Junction is as much a victim as Gold Canyon (perhaps even more, as the planes fly at even lower altitudes over AJ). A complaint from city officials will demonstrate that our community is organized, unified, and ready to fight for change.

  • Pinal County

Pinal County is the unwitting recipient of CAE’s industrial waste. CAE’s noisy toxic-lead-spewing planes lower Pinal County’s property values and quality of life while offering nothing in return. Great for CAE, Falcon Field, Mesa, and Maricopa; not so great for Pinal.

  • Falcon Field

The airport proprietor has the authority to regulate operations (even though they may claim that they don’t). Unfortunately, it’s the goal of all airports to grow and metastasize to accommodate more traffic and ever-larger aircraft. CAE is a sad step in that direction and the cash cow upon which Falcon Field depends.

  • Mesa

Many of Mesa’s residents are also furious at CAE and its supporters. And with good reason. Here’s one of CAE’s noisy toxic-lead-spewing planes flying under 2,500 feet doing loops (possibly touch-and-go exercises) over Northern Mesa (District 5) at 10 AM on a Saturday morning…

    n4400s

Round and round and round it goes. When will it stop? Never—not unless Mesa residents do something about it. Imagine what it’s like to live anywhere near this “community” airport. Oh wait—we don’t have to imagine…

  • Your Senators

Congress has the authority to adopt legislation to address the growing problems of aviation noise, so ask them to support the Quiet Skies Caucus. Sign the national petition.

  • Your Members of Congress

  • CAE Global Academy Phoenix

Sometimes corporations will do the right thing if you just ask nicely.

  • CAE (parent corporation)

Sometimes parents can influence their children when the children misbehave.

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

If anyone has the authority to regulate aircraft, it should be the FAA. But the FAA claims that they have no authority to regulate noise and will simply refer you to Falcon Field. Falcon Field—in turn—will refer you back to the FAA. See how that works?

  • Maricopa County

Let Maricopa know that not only are CAE’s planes negatively impacting residents of Maricopa, they’re negatively impacting residents of Pinal as well.

  • Governor Ducey

While the Governor’s Office doesn’t regulate aircraft, I would imagine a call from the Governor would perk some ears.

  • Other Groups

Support those on the front lines of this issue. Communicate and coordinate with them to let them know just how far-reaching the CAE noise issues go.

  • Arizona State Legislature

What to Expect?

Expect some of the elected and appointed officials you contact to shirk responsibility and refer you elsewhere. Expect to eventually reach someone who will take your complaint, but will try to discourage you with a barrage of questions they hope you won’t be able to answer, questions ultimately designed to make you go away. They’ll want to know times, dates, airplane tail numbers, etc. Respond with the information provided on this site. Once you demonstrate that you know exactly who is responsible for the noise and cannot be dismissed for lack of information, expect them to be very friendly and understanding about your plight, but ultimately unable to do anything for you. Or expect them to make promises that they have no intention of keeping (promises cost nothing and are broken without consequences, and so they will provide you with as many as you require). Promises of self-compliance never work; only a written, contractual, legally-binding agreement enforceable in a court of law will demonstrate a true commitment to respecting the property rights of others.
